About builder app for business
Tradie leads Sydney homeowners actually chose to send you
BuilderApp is a Sydney marketplace where homeowners describe a job and pick who to contact. Listing is free during our pilot. There are no lead packs to buy, no credits to top up, and no commission on work you win — if you want tradie leads Sydney without a balance to manage, this is what we are building.
What a BuilderApp listing gets you today
We are a pilot, so here is the version without the marketing on it.
What it does
A profile page on builderapp.au carrying your business name, ABN, licence, trades, service suburbs, photos and contact details.
Visibility in the categories and suburbs you nominate — in a directory small enough that being listed means being seen.
Direct contact from homeowners who chose you. No bidding, no countdown, no shared lead sold four times.
A person who answers when you email us.
What it does not do yet
It does not produce a predictable flow of jobs. We are building the homeowner side and the trade side at the same time, and you should know that before you spend twenty minutes on a profile.
What we ask for when you list
- Registered business name and ABN.
- Licence number and issuing state, for every trade where NSW requires one.
- The trade categories and the suburbs you actually service.
- A contact email and phone we can reach.
- Agreement to our Community Guidelines and Tradie Principles.
- A person reviews every account before it goes live, usually the same business day. We remove listings that give us false licence or ABN details, and we do not restore them.
How jobs reach you
A homeowner posts a job with the work, the suburb and a rough budget. It becomes visible to businesses listed in that category and that part of Sydney. You get in touch if it suits. You are not charged to respond and you are not racing a timer.
The homeowner decides who to talk to. From there you deal with them directly — your quote, your contract, your payment terms. BuilderApp is not a party to the job, does not hold funds, and does not take a percentage.
What it costs
- Nothing. No listing fee, no lead credits, no commission on work you win, and no lock-in contract during the Sydney pilot.
- At some point we will introduce paid options for trade businesses — that is how this becomes a business rather than a hobby. When we do: we will publish the pricing before it applies, we will tell every listed business in advance, and nothing gets charged without you agreeing to it first.
What we expect from you
- Accurate licence and ABN details, kept current.
- A reply to homeowners who contact you — even if the reply is no.
- Quotes in writing, with scope, exclusions and a payment schedule.
- The insurance your trade requires, held and current.
- The detail is in our Tradie Principles and Community Guidelines. These are not decoration — they are the basis on which we remove a listing.
Why take tradie leads Sydney from a pilot platform
- Being early on a small directory is worth more than being one of hundreds on a large one. Three concrete reasons:
- Your profile is visible, not buried on page four of a category with two hundred others.
- You shape the product. We read every message and most of it is still undecided.
- You hold the pilot terms — free while it lasts, and advance notice before anything changes.
- What we will not tell you is that a job is posted every few seconds. We do not have that volume and we are not going to invent a number to win your signup. What we have is a Sydney directory being built carefully, and room in it.
How to list your business — three steps
- Create an account. Email and password, two minutes.
- Add your business details. Name, ABN, licence, trades, suburbs, photos. Fifteen minutes if your paperwork is to hand.
- We review and publish. A person checks it, usually the same business day, and emails you when it is live.
FAQ
1. How much does it cost to list my trade business on BuilderApp?
Nothing during the Sydney pilot. There is no listing fee, no lead credits, no commission on work you win and no lock-in. If we introduce paid options later we will publish the pricing before it applies and tell every listed business in advance
2. How many tradie leads Sydney businesses get on BuilderApp?
We will not give you a number, because any number we gave you today would be misleading. We are a pilot building the homeowner side and the trade side at once. What we can tell you honestly is that the directory is small, so a listing is visible rather than buried, and that enquiries come from homeowners who chose you rather than from a lead sold to four businesses.
3.Do I have to buy leads or credits?
No. There is no lead-credit system on BuilderApp and we are not planning one. A homeowner contacts you directly and you respond directly. Nothing is deducted from a balance.
4. What licence details do you need?
The licence number and the state that issued it, for every trade where NSW requires a licence — which includes electrical, plumbing, gasfitting, air conditioning, and residential building work over $5,000. We display it on your profile so homeowners can check it on the NSW register themselves.
5. Can I remove my listing?
Yes, at any time, by emailing us through the support page. There is no notice period and no exit fee. We will confirm when it is down.
